Are you a tech journalist/science communicator/b2b content writer? We are looking for a talented writer to generate engaging, original content for Poppy.com and our social media sites. The writer will research topics and develop interesting posts that will appeal to our target audience and promote the blog using social media, direct email, and other methods to alert and expand our readership.

About You

You are a skilled, tech-savvy writer who can create appealing, insightful posts that will reach and grow our audience. You are focused on generating and composing interesting content and expanding your readership. You are creative, adaptable, and analytical with excellent writing skills and a unique voice.

What You'll Do 

  • Generating, researching, and pitching ideas for posts based on popular news topics (e.g. COVID back to work, vaccines, air quality monitoring)

  • Writing, editing, publishing, and promoting content

  • Promoting new posts using social media to alert and attract new readers

  • Find other sites used by our target audiences and write & publish content there

  • Maximizing site traffic by utilizing Search Engine Optimization keywords

  • Monitoring responses to posts via the website, social media, or other platforms to better understand the audience, and escalate responses

What You Need

  • Extensive content writing portfolio for technical B2B products

  • Analytical results showing how your content performs

  • Exceptional writing, research, and communication skills

  • Proficiency with technology, social media platforms, Google (Analytics, Docs, Drive, etc.) and SEO keywords

  • Confirmed experience working with deadlines to deliver high quality output in a short span of time

 Bonus Points For

  • Microbiology or medical background or education

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Marketing, or related field

This is a contract role, remote position. Canada - Eastern time zone preferred.
